Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is a Bible-centered organization whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to disciple them in the Word of God and in the local church for Christian living. One way they accomplish this is through the dynamic Good News Clubs.
Grove Hill Church sponsors the interactive after-school Good News Club at Delk-Henson (DHIS) for 4th-6th graders. Chapel Hill Elementary (CHES) also has a GNC for K-3rd graders at the same time making it convenient for parents and volunteers. Clubs meet Tuesdays at 2:30-4:00 beginning Sept 22, 2026. Both clubs follow the school calendar for holidays.
There are many opportunities to serve in the Good News Club ministry. These are the various roles; a person may (and usually does) serve in more than one role.
- Teachers (Bible lesson & memory verse)
- Teacher Assistants (songs, review games, missionary stories)
- Small Group Shepherds
- Prayer Coordinator
- Snack Coordinator
- Follow-Up Coordinator
- Counselors
Serving in the GNC is an effective and rewarding way to introduce unchurched children to Christ. The Gospel and Biblical principles are woven through each activity. Churched kids and young believers are discipled and encouraged to pray regularly, memorize scripture, have a daily “quiet time”, and attend church. In small groups, we have opportunities to connect with and support students through prayer and conversation, which can lead to connection with the parents as well. This is a relatively small time commitment for a ministry with priceless eternal rewards! It is fun for students and volunteers. Please join us!
