Welcome to Grove Hill Mentorship Ministry
1 Corinthians 11:1 “Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.”
Mission Statement
The mission of the Mentorship Ministry is to facilitate meaningful connections between mentors and mentees, fostering relationships that are both God-honoring and edifying. We believe that the Lord God will work through fallible individuals, and that only He can truly know a person’s heart. It is also our conviction that the Holy Spirit is essential in paring mentors and mentees, ensuring that each relationship aligns with a God-centered purpose.
Mentoring is…..
– a relationship
– a bridge between generations
– a tool for spiritual, mental, and emotional growth of both mentor and mentee
– the hope that God placed in us to a person in need
What does mentoring look like
- Mentoring will take place in a same gendered, one on one setting.
- This will take place every week for about 1-2 hours over a period of at least 3 months.
- Some of your meetings may take place at a coffee shop, park, running errands, or any place that allows for intentional listening and dialogue.
- These times will be filled with sharing questions, life circumstances, prayer, and scripture.
Examples of Mentorship
Our greatest example of a mentor is Christ.
– Mentored by personal engagement
– Great listener
– Walked intently alongside those He mentored
– Concentrated on the person in front of Him
– Taught by asking questions
Mentor is…
– Mature, authentic follower of Christ
– Good Listener
– Someone who relies on God’s Word versus their opinion
– Consistent and Dependable
Mentee is…
– Eager to know God in a deeper way
– Willing to step out of her/his comfort zone
– Desires to know Scripture
– Seeks to apply God’s plan to her/his life
